Missed dose guide for Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound

Use product-specific label windows to decide whether to take a missed dose now or skip it.

What this tool helps you do

This guide follows common label-aligned missed-dose windows for weekly semaglutide and tirzepatide products.

It helps decide whether a missed dose can still be taken now or should be skipped until the next usual day.

How it works

Method

Pick the product-specific timing rule

Ozempic and Wegovy use a 5-day window with a 48-hour minimum gap before the next dose.

Mounjaro and Zepbound use a 4-day window with a 72-hour minimum gap before the next dose.

Method

Compare the missed date with the next scheduled dose

If the missed dose is still within the product window and there is enough time before the next scheduled weekly dose, the action is take now.

Otherwise, the action is skip and resume on the next scheduled day.

Formula or method

Semaglutide family: take within 5 days if the next dose is still at least 48 hours away

Tirzepatide family: take within 4 days if the next dose is still at least 72 hours away

Example

Ozempic missed by 3 days with more than 48 hours before the next dose -> take now.

Mounjaro missed by 5 days -> skip and resume on the next scheduled dose day.

Assumptions and limitations

This tool does not cover compounded products, non-weekly patterns, or clinician-directed exceptions.

If you have repeated misses, vomiting, or dosing confusion, contact your clinician or pharmacist.

FAQ

No. It explicitly follows take-now-or-skip logic and never recommends doubling the next dose.

Because the label windows differ: 5 days for weekly semaglutide products and 4 days for weekly tirzepatide products in this reference model.

Not safely. Compounded products and custom schedules can require different instructions.
