GLP-1 cost per pound calculator

Estimate cost per pound lost and compare your progress with trial-average weight-loss curves.

Weight unit

What this tool helps you do

This calculator estimates how much you have spent so far, how much each pound or kilogram of weight loss has cost, and whether your progress is ahead of, on, or behind a trial-average benchmark.

It is primarily a storytelling and planning tool, not a financial or medical recommendation engine.

How it works

Method

Estimate time on therapy

The calculator computes months on therapy from your start date, then multiplies that by your average monthly spend.

If you are more than 15 days into an additional month, it adds a half-month step.

Method

Compare your results with trial-average curves

Expected percent loss is interpolated from embedded semaglutide, oral semaglutide, liraglutide, and tirzepatide curves.

Your actual percent loss is then compared with the expected curve to label progress as ahead, on track, or behind.

Formula or method

Months on therapy = years × 12 + month difference + optional 0.5 month if day difference > 15

Total spend = Monthly spend × Months on therapy

Cost per pound = Total spend ÷ Pounds lost

Cost per kilogram = Total spend ÷ Kilograms lost

Example

From January 14 to April 14 with a $300 monthly spend, total spend is about $900.

If weight falls from 200 lb to 185 lb over that time, cost per pound is about $60.

Assumptions and limitations

Trial-average expected loss is not a guarantee and should not be used to judge personal success or failure.

The calculator does not include indirect costs such as labs, appointments, or food changes.

FAQ
