How it works
Method
Convert pen strength into concentration
The tool assumes a full labeled dose is delivered in 0.6 mL.
That produces a working concentration that can be used to estimate click counts and extracted volume.
Method
Estimate clicks and total doses
Each click is modeled as 0.01 mL and total usable volume defaults to 2.4 mL unless priming fluid is included.
The calculator then estimates how many extracted doses fit into the pen and how many weeks that could last.
Formula or method
Concentration = Pen strength mg ÷ 0.6 mL
Clicks = (Desired dose ÷ Concentration) ÷ 0.01 mL
Doses available = floor(Usable volume ÷ Required volume)
Example
A 10 mg pen at a 2.5 mg target dose equals about 15 clicks and 16 estimated doses.
A 15 mg pen at a 7.5 mg target dose equals about 30 clicks and 8 estimated doses.
Assumptions and limitations
